As a practicing surgical pathologist specializing in thoracic pathology and currently undergoing training in cytopathology, I find cytopathology to be a thrilling field teeming with huge potential for AI applications. Currently, I am engaged in developing an in-house algorithm for cell quantification that focuses on material derived from bronchioalveolar lavage (BAL). Additionally, in collaboration with our industry partners Indica Labs, we are working to optimize a PD-L1 algorithm for non-small cell carcinoma of the lung.
