José Francisco Carreño Martínez

José F Carreño hails from Tíjola (Spain), and he graduated from Carlos III University in 2021, where he completed his bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering. During his undergraduate studies, he spent one academic year at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, US), where he had the opportunity to start his research career under the supervision of Dr. Rudolph Gleason and Dr. Peng Qiu. It was during this time that he discovered his passion for the Bioinformatics field and the applications of computational techniques to the analysis of high-throughput technologies. His motivation led him to pursue his Master's in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (ETH Zürich), where he could engage in a wide variety of projects allowing him to collaborate with researchers like Dr. Marta Roccio, Dr. Bernd Bodenmiller and Dr. Mark Robinson. José F Carreño is currently pursuing his PhD at the Institute of Tissue Medicine and Pathology working on the analysis of spatial transcriptomics and proteomics data and unveiling the potential of these techniques in the diagnosis and prognosis of cancer patients.
