Cristina Graham Martínez
Research associate
Cristina Graham Martínez obtained an MSc in Medical Biology from Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands in 2018. Previously, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain, in 2016. In 2023 she will finish her Ph.D. in clinical research with a focus on the pathological and biological aspects of rectal cancer. During her Ph.D. she developed a novel classification that quantified histological changes in neoadjuvant-treated cancer patients and identified two main patterns of regression with prognostic implications. Further, she set out to explore how different treatments modify several immune cell populations in the tumour microenvironment. This work is her main area of research and what she is currently exploring further here at the Institute of Tissue Medicine and Pathology in Bern, Switzerland.
